I am a faculty in the Department of Family Medicine at Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. My clinical work involves primary and secondary level health care services in community clinics and in a secondary care hospital. My academic commitments focus on teaching and supervising family medicine residents, medical students, interns and junior medical officers. As part of an academic unit, I have the opportunity to work with social workers, community health workers, community health nurse and counsellor. My special interest in primary care research enabled me to document the distinct symptom presentations, patients’ expectations, approach in primary care and measure the health indicators in patients with diabetes in the communities we serve as publications. Currently, I am focusing on building a registry for our patients with multi-morbidity within our existing hospital information system. Our aim is to establish recall and reminder within the system and to utilise the data to understand and improve compliance of our patients with multi-morbidity.
